100 days to World Cup

In 100 days time the world will descend on South Africa for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. The opening game takes place at Soccer City on 11 June 2010 while the first game in Port Elizabeth is on 12 June between Korea Republic and Greece. Stadium at night

Today is 100 days to the start of the 2010 FIFA World Cup and 101 days until the first match in Port Elizabeth. Boardwalk Lights

The lights of the Boardwalk Casino and Entertainment Complex reflecting on the Boardwalk lake. The Boardwalk is very much in the centre of most of Port Elizabeth's summer entertainment with lots of activities going on inside the complex as well as at Hobie Beach across the road.

Full Moon over Port Elizabeth

There is a full moon out tonight (ok, so I took the pic last night, but its close enough) and although I used to be a werewolf, I am ok noooo-oooooooowwwwwwww..... I took this pic from on top of the reservoir on Lovemore Heights looking towards Algoa Bay and the beachfront to the east.

Evening lighthouse moods

We camped out at Cape St Francis over Easter weekend for three nights and one of the missions that I set for myself was to get a nice Seal Point Lighthouse picture at sunset.I missed sunset on the first evening to say the least. Happy Valley

Who living in Port Elizabeth can say that they have never been to Happy Valley? Probably not many. Some people (like myself) went there as kids and now take their kids. I love going to Happy Valley. It is a wonderland of colourful lights and kids story and rhyme characters. Happy Valley is situated on the beachfront just off Humewood Beach. It truly is a Port Elizabeth institution.
