The back seats on an open game viewing vehicle may be the most bumpy but it also offers the best view not just of animals but the surrounding countryside. In this case while my fellow game viewers were watching a couple of zebra I was hanging out the back trying to get a nice picture of the two wheel track behind us.
I have never had the opportunity to see a real live serval cat before seeing that they are extinct in the Eastern and Western Cape. Visiting the Royalston Game Reserve just outside Port Elizabeth not long ago the owners took us to have a look at their Serval rehabilitation project. Port Elizabeth is surrounded by a host of private game reserves, most of them with upmarket luxury lodges. The interesting bit is that each one of them look different and visiting them I always look forward to what the lodge looks like if I haven't been to one before. That was no different visiting Mark's Camp at Lalibela Game Reserve where they have a great big fireplace and a strong animal, wood and earth theme.

Gedurende 'n besoek aan Addo Elephant Back Safaris in die Zuurberge net langs die Addo Olifant Nasionale Park het ons onder andere saam met die olifante gaan stap.
