Port Elizabeth Beachfront Sunrise

This morning when I got to work I got a message from a friend who took his mountain bike out for a change again.  He wanted to show off the pic he took with his phone on the beachfront at sunrise this morning and I just had to share it with you.  Perhaps I need to get my b-hind out of bed early one morning and go and take some pics like this myself.

Le Vino balcony view

Last week I got to attend the launch of the new Le Vino Wine and Tapas Bar at the Boardwalk.  Le Vino is in the space where Dulce used to be and has a great upstairs area with a balcony.  It's on this balcony we sat watching the sun go down over the Boardwalk lake with a glass of wine and some yummy tapas.

Sunset up Heugh Road

Last night the third Travel Massive Port Elizabeth event took place at The Mad Hatter on Heugh Road in Walmer.  Travel Massive is a world wide network of travel industry insiders and local chapters organise free networking events allowing people in the travel industry to get together, network, share information and, ultimately, do business.  I am one of the Travel Massive Port Elizabeth chapter leaders and last night's event was one of four events taking place at the same time…

Dusk at Eersterivier

I have to admit, I haven't got a Port Elizabeth photo for you today.  It's a combination of things, mostly bad luck coupled with being fairly busy at the moment.  My external hard drive crashed a little while ago and with it went all my family and travel photos.  It's going to cost me around R8k to have the contents retrieved in a specialist environment.  Money I definitely haven't got at the moment.  Last week my home laptop's motherboard decided…

Golden morning

In Afrikaans there is a saying, "Die môrestond het goud in die mond" which is the same as "The early bird catches the worm."  The Afrikaans one has more relevance to this picture.

Kings Beach sunset

If you are on the beachfront in Humewood one tends to think that east is directly over the bay and west is then behind you (if you are facing the bay).  The curve of the beachfront is slightly deceptive with west actually being to the left which means that the sun goes down over the city centre.
