Drama Princess and the Donkey
In celebration of National Women's Day today I have decided on posting a picture of Drama Princess at one of her favorite attractions in Port Elizabeth. We may not hang out there often, but I try to visit the East Cape Horse Care Unit on Victoria Drive every now and then for her to spend some time with the donkeys. Ellies after sunset
Going on a game drive at Lalibela Game Reserve outside Port Elizabeth recently we were lucky to have quite a few very good sightings of rhino, giraffe and lion on the afternoon game drive. Unfortunately even though the ranger knew where the elephants were we just couldn't catch sight of them. Serval Cat
I have never had the opportunity to see a real live serval cat before seeing that they are extinct in the Eastern and Western Cape. Visiting the Royalston Game Reserve just outside Port Elizabeth not long ago the owners took us to have a look at their Serval rehabilitation project. They obtained two serval cats from another rehabilitation project and they have had three babies which are being prepared for release at one of the big private game reserves near Port Elizabeth. …

Dit is 'n hartseer realiteit dat die renosters in Suid-Afrika onder 'n hengse druk geplaas word as gevolg van stropers wat hulle skiet en die horings uitkap. Feeding squirrels in the Company Gardens
You may not find it on all the tourism guides being printed about Cape Town, but one of the popular things to do for visitors to the Mother City is to go and feed the squirrels living the the Company Gardens. Donkey in pajamas
The Burchell's Zebra or plains zebra is the most common zebra found on the game reserves surrounding Port Elizabeth. Tourists just love seeing donkeys in pajamas and game rangers have so many stories, facts and jokes to tell about them.

Just Nuisance
Just Nuisance, along with Jock of the Bushveld, are probably the two most famous dogs in South Africa. Nuisance, a Great Dane, was born in 1937 and as his owner worked at the naval base he started hanging out with the sailors.
