Settlers Park covers 76 hectares on the banks of the Baakens River and contains an unique diversity of plant life and about 120 species of birds. Small animals like grysbok and mongoose can be seen and down by the river there are leguaan and terrapin. Various walks criss cross the park and the main entrance into it is from How Avenue just off Park Drive. Next to the main parking lot is a flower display house along with a marquette of the 1820 Settler statue found in Grahamstown.
