One of the highlights of visits to No7 Castle Hill is the working well in the courtyard. As there is no fountain, water collects in the well from the roof and was used for normal household usage back in the days. I chose to post a picture without anybody in just to show what the whole courtyard looks like.

You chose well, That picture of the courtyard conjures up serenity! Jonker, I've been reading your posts, but just not commented. I loved your sunset taken from the boat down below here too. Thanks for your comments on my blog.
Very interesting. When I lived in Andalucia, the water collected on the roof and was stored in the roof.
I remember visiting Castle Hill, and recall that – and one is warned of this! – hoe smooth and slippery the cobbles in the courtyard is. It must have been even more so with people drawing water from the well and it always being wet around it!
