Lion cub

My post tonight on the Port Elizabeth Photo Files is about the Seaview Game and Lion Park and in the picture is a couple handling the big cubs at the park. On my visit there were also small cubs (I didn't get the age, but I think them to be about 5 or 6 weeks old). They are still too small for guests to handle them as they haven't had their inoculations yet.

My, what big teeth you have

On my visit to Seaview Game and Lion Park just outside Port Elizabeth on Sunday, this adult male white lion was lying right up against the fence allowing me to get some great close-up photos.

On our afternoon game drive we encountered a male lion and I couldn't resist the temptation to…

They released lions into Addo about 6 years ago and at first people struggled to even find them. Since then the…

Big Cats

On my trip last week I visited two different private game reserves. Between the two reserves I got to see and photograph three species of big cats.Ok, so not indigenous to South Africa, but a very awesome cat. Kwantu Private Game Reserve has a predator centre where they breed with endangered animals. They have a pair of Bengal Tigers and the male was quite content with his picture being taken. He even posed and looked straight into the camera. This lion…

Lion in the late afternoon

An adult male and two juveniles lying in the late afternoon sun in the Schotia Private Game Reserve. This is the same game reserve where I took the sunset photo of a couple of days ago.
