Slangkop Lighthouse in Kommetjie
I hope to one day have the opportunity tick off all the lighthouses on the South African coast on my list of places visited. A lighthouse is just such a powerful symbol and the fact that each one is unique means that when you visit one its not a case of saying "just another lighthouse". Milnerton Lighthouse
Situated on Table Bay to the north east of Table Mountain is the Milnerton Lighthouse. Built in 1960, the lighthouse is in the suburb of Milnerton on the way to Blouberg. Even though the location is well inside Table Bay, this small stretch of coastline has wrecked more ships than any other coastline in South Africa. Sunrise at Cape Recife Lighthouse
After yesterday's post of the morning light on the ripples at Cape Recife, I realised that I actually hadn't posted the pictures of the real reason I was there for yet. Capturing a couple of photos of sunrise behind the Cape Recife Lighthouse. Candelabra Flower
The Candelabra Flower is found in grasslands and is quite wide spread in summer rainfall areas. Unfortunately people pick them in the wild as the flower is quite striking and it never gets a chance to sow its seeds. The flower grows up to 70 centimeters high from a bulb. It normally flowers in the summer months where after fruit develops on the tips of the flower stalks. When they dry out they form a tumbleweed and spreads its seeds.

Pink Candelabra
In September I did a post featuring the Seal Point Lighthouse with a Candelabra flower in the foreground which I took some time ago. On our recent visit the Candelabra flowers were in bloom again and I decided to see if I can get some slight variations on the original photo. So here is one of the pic I came up with.

Evening lighthouse moods
We camped out at Cape St Francis over Easter weekend for three nights and one of the missions that I set for myself was to get a nice Seal Point Lighthouse picture at sunset.I missed sunset on the first evening to say the least.
