New play park

The play park at the new Kings Beach development is officially the Kidz' new favorite play area in town with all its "different" activities.  Personally I like the journey of giraffe next to the pathway which I have used as one of the clues in an "Amazing Race" type of competition called Travel Quest  I organised for this past Monday.

Skipping along the new stream

One of the water features that form part of the new Kings Beach development is a stream that flows from the new fountain down to the shallow lake.  One of the things I like about it is that there are cement strips as well as rock features along the stream which means that kids can follow it from start to end.

Brookes on the Bay’s view

Coming soon: Summer

Yesterday morning was a stunning morning and I headed down to the beachfront before work for a short walk.  The weather was stunning with no wind and the sun warming up.  Summer is around the corner and one of these days people will be flocking to the beaches. Kings Beach stretches away from McArthur's pool to the harbour in the picture above and is still empty... for now.

Smartie (Bibo) Train

Is there anybody out there who grew up in Port Elizabeth who doesn't remember the Smartie train at Kings Beach? I remember how we went to the little kiddies pool by the train and went on rides afterwards. I still have a photo somewhere with us kids standing in front of the train. Today the pool is a quad bike / go-cart track, but the train still goes, although not called the Smartie Train anymore. The Bibo Train runs on…
