The Boardwalk day and night

The Boardwalk Casino and Entertainment complex on the Port Elizabeth beachfront is a very popular spot for both locals as well as visitors to the city. The nice part about it is that you don't have to visit the casino to visit the Boardwalk. In actual fact the complex is a very family friendly environment. Most of the shops are open in the evenings until 20:00 while the restaurants are open till late. Boardwalk by dayBoardwalk by night

34 Degrees South

One of our favourite places to eat out is 34 Degrees South at the Boardwalk. It has a nice ambiance, a good menu to choose from, good service and a great view. Today was no exception and the Cape Salmon was superb. Update - 34 Degrees South closed down and has been replaced with a Spur.

I never go anywhere without my camera, so piep piep, click.I've done a post about the Boardwalk before. It can be seen here:http://fireflyafrica.blogspot.com/2008/07/boardwalk-casino-entertainment-complex.html

Mime or mannequin?

At first glance this mime artist looks like a mannequin and when you ask if you can photograph him, he does not answer and he does not move a muscle. Mmmm you wonder am I talking to plastic? Then after taking the picture and dropping some money in the box, he comes to life with a sudden movement and then takes on a new pose. You can often see this guy at the Boardwalk complex.

Boardwalk Casino & Entertainment Complex

The Boardwalk is situated just accross the road from Hobie Beach and has over the years become one of Port Elizabeth's prime beachfront attractions for both local as well as international visitors. The complex was built around the man-made Boardwalk lake. The main feature of the complex is the casino, although you don't have to go to the casino to go to the Boardwalk. There are also numorous restaurants, cinemas, shops, a craft centre, amphitheatre as well as kiddies entertainment…
