[youtube=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4aMuytsdCbE&w=500&h=400]I was looking for a video to post for this week's Video Friday and came across this awesome video of the Boardwalk's Fountain Spectacular by Limewave on their YouTube channel. Enjoy.
It isn't always easy to maintain the daily pace of Port Elizabeth Daily Photo especially if I've been as busy as I have been the last few weeks. I have travelled quite a lot for work and because of that I have picked up a lot of material for The Firefly Photo Files. Unfortunately I haven't had much leisure time around PE lately which means I have well and truly ran out of pictures now. I don't want to falter…
I'm currently in Durban at Tourism Indaba promoting the Eastern Cape, learning, observing and networking. Unfortunately I also just realized that I have very much run out of pictures thanks to all the travelling I have been doing lately. So I trawled through my mobile and found a couple of pics to share with you over the next few days. The Boardwalk Fountain Spectacular has become a must see for all visitors to Port Elizabeth. This weekend the Democratic Alliance's national…
This weekend the Boardwalk complex celebrates it's 14th birthday. The Boardwalk started out as a casino and entertainment complex and now also features a 5 star hotel, international convention centre and a spa. When the Boardwalk was built a fair amount of eyebrows lifted and people gave it 18 months before nobody would go there and the shops would close. On the contrary, it has become a Port Elizabeth landmark, standing central to most activities and events hosted on the beachfront. Somewhere most visitors to…
This year the second installment of the PE to Plett four day mountain bike team event between Port Elizabeth and Plettenberg Bay took place in reverse and ended at the Boardwalk on the PE beachfront. The first team arrived at the Boardwalk at about 9:45ish with the last teams struggling in somewhere between 1 and 2pm. Red Cherry Adventures does an fantastic job organizing this event and I'm sure it will soon start to rival the Cape Epic as one of the top…
I mentioned the other day that I have finally started to Instagram now that I have replaced my Blackberry with a Samsung. The day the phone was delivered to me I couldn't wait to take my first photo with it to post on Instagram. I decided to take a walk across the road from the office and snap a picture of Hobie Beach and the Boardwalk Hotel from Shark Rock Pier.
Is there a pot of gold at the end of this rainbow? For a few perhaps. Not for everybody. But one can hope though.
This is the 7th and final post in the Boardwalk series of the last week. Its shows the casino building seen across the lake from the first restaurants. The casino features 24 tables and 900 slot machines in both smoking and non-smoking facilities. I'm not a gambling man, but I love the sound of the casino with the jackpot bells going off all around you as people try to strike it lucky.
