Lizard

Standing at one of the view points when I visited the Valley of Desolation near Graaff Reinet recently, I found this little guy sunning himself on the rocks. As I got closer he ran down the side of the rock to hide. Literally seconds later he was back and as I got myself comfortable and in a position to take a photo, off he went again. But again seconds later he was back. Either he was really enjoying his spot in the late afternoon sun, or he was keen (but a bit shy) to be photographed.

I'm so glad you didn't crop the green out of this one. The flash of color makes the Lizard stand out even more.

This is an interesting lizard with a droopy eye look. Do you know what kind Jonker? It's a great capture. Sure glad it gave you multiple chances.

  4. He was just shy Jonker and not used to having his picture taken. 🙂

  5. The Valley of Desolation! What an awe inspiring place. We have visited it a number of times and the changes that the position of the sun makes on the view is quite astonishing. Have you also noticed it, or was it just my imagination?
