Wild orchid

I found this flower out walking a couple of weekends ago and it looks like some kind of wild orchid. Unfortunately I can’t find it in my book, although you don’t need to know exactly what something is to be able to photograph it.

What ever it is, it's beautiful and you captured it well Jonker.I too like to identify things in nature. There's a certain power in the name. 😉

Jonker the plant has large maple like leaves with spiky points on the ends of the maple corners – if I am correct. I will see if I can find one and then research my very old book of SA plants

Probably a Green Wood Orchid – occurs in shady spots under thickets and forest edges.

I have no idea but it is a goreous flower and you've captured it beautifully … so it doesn't matter what it's called .. to me anyway!

Looks like something in the lily family – perhaps a species of Ornithogalum.
