The Garden Route has some excellent hiking trails. The Otter, Outeniqua and Tsitsikamma trails are epic and will take you a couple of days covering long distance lugging along backpacks while short loops like Storms River Mouth, The Big Tree and Garden of Eden will use up an hour of your time with only a camera over your shoulder before heading off to your next destination. Uniondale between the Klein Karoo and the Langkloof is famous for it's ghost, but I'm sure most people know very little else about the town. Visitors will also find a lot of history in the area. The town of Ashton is situated on the Robertson Valley close to the start of Route 62. As one drives along this road between Worcester and the Klein Karoo there is a steam locomotive on the left about halfway through town.
