The Pride went to Pollok Beach last weekend and I took a walk down to Pipe with Drama Princess to go and watch the surfers. I can't say I was very surprised to find Luc Hosten, The Godfather of PE Photography (Friends of Schoenmakerskop), snapping away as the surfers rode the waves.
Summer is coming and the seasons are changes but its not quite ideal swimming weather yet. The lifeguards are only coming on duty a bit closer to the season so the "No Swimming" signs are still up on Pollok Beach.
Summer, oh Summer, where art thou Summer? Winter has been cold and wet. So very wet in fact that with three more weeks to go we already have the second wettest winter on recorded and there are more rain to come. I just thought I'll post a picture I took at Pollok Beach towards the end of last Summer for a bit of wishful thinking.
Looking along the promenade back towards town from this point, a couple of beachfront landmarks are visible. Bayworld is on the left with the Garden Court (previously the Holiday Inn Garden Court) behind it. The tall building in the middle is The Beaches apartment block while the McArthur's swimming pool is visible on the right.

As you walk from Hobie Beach to Pollock Beach you walk through this section of beach which is adjacent to "Lovers Lane". At low tide there as lots of rocks and sand banks sticking out to explore and when the tide is very high you sometimes have to hurry along or you may get your feet wet if a wave pushes up onto the sand.
