Wyd & Syd – the Best Program Insert on Luister FM

Padlangs on Luister FM 90.5

Every Sunday afternoon just after 12 I head over to the Luister FM studio in Newton Park for the weekly Padlangs insert on the Skop uit jou skoene program with Sarel Botha and Marius Erasmus.  Luister FM 90.5 is an Afrikaans community radio station that started a few months ago and has shown some serious growth in listenership among the Afrikaans community in and around Port Elizabeth.  Padlangs is a 15 minute travel slot where I cover everything from tourism…

Together for 15 years through thick and thin

I made the newspaper today

I am very stoked today after being featured in an article in the Afrikaans newspaper, Die Burger.  It's actually the second time I make the paper in two weeks after the article about the launch of Travel Massive Port Elizabet last week.  This article is about me though and my blogging along with the fact that The Firefly Photo Files was runner-up in the African Blogger Awards' Photography category. Filming the Sundays River

A week or so ago I accompanied a group of media around the Port Elizabeth area for a couple of days.  One of the activities we did was cruising down the Sundays River with the Sundays River Ferry before climbing the big Colchester sand dunes.  The camera man of the SABC 1 show Real Goboza had a ball of a time both on the boat as well as the dunes and here he's busy filming while we were cruising downstream.

Bay FM

Every now and then I get the opportunity to participate in the regular tourism slot on Bay FM every Friday morning between 11 and 12.  I wanted to be a radio presenter when I was in school so I have to say that I'm really enjoying it when I get the chance to go on air.  Bay FM is a community radio station that broadcasts on 107.9 FM in and around Port Elizabeth.  Folks outside the broadcast area can listen to Bay…

Pasella TV Show

I was fortunate enough to be asked to be part of a shoot for the SABC 2 Afrikaans magazine show Pasella today. Along with my colleague S, I got to take the the presenter, Vicky Davis, and the crew on a walkabout along some of the places on the Donkin Heritage Trail. Here we are standing at the Prester John monument across the road from the Feather Market Centre. The show will be broadcasted in the first week of September.
