I was enjoying the slightly hazy sunrise in Durban when I noticed a ship approaching through the haze on its way to the harbour.

The Wine Show
This past weekend the Nelson Mandela Bay leg of the annual The Wine Show took place at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium. The city really needs more shows like this and looking at the popularity people are hungry (or in this case perhaps thirsty) for them. Most of the exhibitors were boutique cellars and visitors to the show got the opportunity to taste and get to know a lot of wines which they perhaps have never heard of before. Swartkops River Estuary
Returning to Port Elizabeth on the same flight I snapped yesterday's Colchester dunefield on, I got this picture of the Sundays River estuary as one looks up towards Uitenhage from Algoa Bay.

Colchester dunefield
Most people living in Port Elizabeth has driven along the N2 past the Sundays River and Colchester at some stage in their lives and would have seen the sand dunes beyond the river. But I want to bet that very few actually realise how big the dune fields out at Colchester really is. First time on the Gautrain
Imagine a bunch of small town children going to Johannesburg and getting to ride on the Gautrain for the first time. Dit is 'n hartseer realiteit dat die renosters in Suid-Afrika onder 'n hengse druk geplaas word as gevolg van stropers wat hulle skiet en die horings uitkap. Die horings word dan na die Ooste gesmokkel waar daar 'n groot aanvraag is omdat hulle dink die horings medisinale kragte het. Doll house
Enjoying the view from the top of the Donkin Lighthouse with the Top Billing crew the other day, the sound guy pointed out one of the houses visible from the lighthouse. The back of the house with its big open balconies make it look like a real life doll house.
