Winter is back… or still here

Paddling on the Bushmans

Blue skies, no wind, flat water, warm winters day... Sounds like the perfect day to paddle on the Bushmans River at Kenton-on-Sea.  Or at least sit on a jetty and watch somebody do it like we did.

Chilling with some gnomes

Port Elizabeth / Nelson Mandela Bay – An African Wildlife Hotspot

Driving the Woody Cape dirt road between Kenton and Alexandria

Hello Aliens. Are you among us?

Yesterday morning while taking a walk around Kings Beach Park, my eye caught this piece of graffiti at the top of the steps at the water feature.  HELLO ALIENS along with pictures of a rainbow, pegasys, two unicorns and a bunch of butterflies.  Does this mean that there are aliens walking among us or is it a welcome for an imminent arrival?  Or are we just all aliens?

Kings Beach lake water feature

I went for a quick early morning walk around Kings Beach Park before work and got stuck at the water feature next to the lake trying to get a picture of both the waterfall and the lake without getting my work pants wet.

Kenton selfie and a broken tablet

A week or two ago we spent a fabulous weekend in Kenton-on-Sea on Route 72 on the Sunshine Coast.  The main reason for being there was to get away for a few days and we made good use of the opportunity to explore the stunning piece of coastline between the mouths of the Bushmans and Kariega rivers.  While there both Drama Princess and I did what we enjoyed, snapped away at pictures.  The only difference was that she was doing…

Baakens Bench

A bench ideal for contemplation.  The difference between this one and others with similar views is that you don't have to hike for an hour to get to it to enjoy it.  It's located next to the Baakens Valley on the corner at the bottom of 2nd Avenue and Fordyce Road in Walmer
